Last August, the ballet dancers of the National Opera of Ukraine performed a charity concert at the Dr Phillips Centre for the Performing Arts in Orlando, the largest city on the Florida peninsula. Under the vaults of one of the most beautiful halls in America, the National Anthem of Ukraine, music by M. Skorulsky and M. Skoryk were performed for the first time, dancers performed national and world ballet classics and modern choreography, an exhibition of Ukrainian artists and handmade crafts was set up in the lobby of the concert hall, and a charity auction took place during the intermission.

According to the organisers, all the funds raised during the event (over USD 800,000) were donated directly to charities to provide humanitarian aid to Ukrainians affected by the Russian military invasion.

"Our city stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people. We support Ukraine in its desperate struggle for democracy, dignity and self-determination. That is the reason why so many patrons and such renowned ensembles as the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, Opera Orlando and the Bach Festival Choir have joined the event," said Marc McMurrin, co-initiator of the concert, President and CEO of the Ginsburg Family Foundation.

Adrenaline Films, the company that actually filmed the concert, continues to chronicle the ballet company of the National Opera of Ukraine.

The film crew has already visited Kyiv, took a number of interviews, and recorded a series of stories about rehearsals and performances that take place despite martial law. And the studio's future plans include accompanying our artists on tour in Canada in January-February next year with a concert programme on the stage of the country's 10 largest cities.

We hope that the exquisite EMMY award will not remain alone for long!
